The Dragon’s Breath pepper is one of the hottest peppers on the planet, reaching up to 2.48 million Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Originally developed for medicinal purposes like topical numbing agents, this pepper is not recommended for casual consumption due to its intense, potentially dangerous heat level. With a maturity period of 90 to 100 days, these super-hot peppers will reward you with an abundant harvest.

Our live pepper plants are grown indoors in a controlled environment where we dial in lighting, airflow, and watering to build strong, vigorous plants with well-developed roots. After delivery, we recommend a gentle transition to your home's growing conditions to help maintain growth momentum and reduce stress.

Your plant was grown indoors and is not hardened off yet. When it arrives, allow it to rest indoors for 12–24 hours before putting in your indoor garden. Gradually introduce the plant to brighter light and outdoor conditions over a 21-day acclimation period for 1-2 hours to reduce stress, prevent shock, and sunscald.

Start in bright, indirect light or shaded outdoor areas for short periods, then slowly increase exposure to morning sun. Do not move plants into the outdoor garden until after your local frost date and the full acclimation period is complete. Keep soil evenly moist (not soggy) during this transition to support healthy growth.

1) What size plant will I receive?

Plant size varies by variety and growth stage. We ship healthy, well-rooted plants 4 to 8 inches—appearance may differ slightly from photos.

2) Are your plants hardened off?

No. Our plants are grown indoors in a controlled environment. Please follow the acclimation instructions before planting outdoors.

3) When do you ship live plants?

We typically ship Monday–Wednesday to reduce weekend delays. Shipping may pause during extreme heat/cold.

4) Do you offer local pickup?

Yes—local pickup is available by appointment only.

5) What if my plant arrives stressed or damaged?

Minor shipping stress can happen. Please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with clear photos so we can help.

6) Can I transplant right away?

We recommend waiting 24–48 hours after arrival before transplanting so the plant can recover from shipping.

Our live plants are grown indoors under controlled conditions. To ensure their long-term health, plants must be properly hardened off before being placed outdoors. Hardening off is the gradual process of introducing plants to outdoor conditions—sunlight, wind, and temperature changes—over the course of 21days.

  • Post-Delivery Care – Once plants are received, it is the buyer’s responsibility to provide proper care, including gradual acclimation to outdoor conditions.
  • Environmental & Growing Conditions – We are not responsible for plant loss or damage due to improper hardening off, extreme weather, neglect, pests, or other environmental factors after delivery.
  • Shipping Risks – While we take great care in packaging, plants may experience minor stress during transit (e.g., slight leaf drop, bent stems). This is normal and does not affect long-term growth. Please inspect your order immediately upon arrival and contact us within 24 hours with photos if there are any concerns.
  • No Returns on Live Plants – Due to the perishable nature of live plants, all sales are final.

At Tasty Pepper™, we take great care in packaging and shipping your order to ensure it arrives safely. However, once your package has been handed over to USPS or another carrier, we are no longer responsible for any shipping issues that may arise.

🔹 Situations Beyond Our Control Include But Are Not Limited To:

✅ Delayed or Extended Delivery Times – Once shipped, transit times depend on the carrier.
✅ Lost, Stolen, or Misplaced Packages – If tracking shows "Delivered," but you did not receive the package, please check with your local post office, neighbors, or household members. We are not responsible for stolen packages.
✅ Wrongful Delivery by USPS or Other Carriers – If the carrier delivers to the wrong address, please contact them directly to resolve the issue.
✅ Damaged Packages Due to USPS Handling – Any damages caused in transit must be reported to the carrier.

📌 Stolen Packages: If a package is marked as Delivered to an Individual but you did not receive it, we recommend filing a claim with USPS immediately. While we cannot issue automatic refunds or replacements, we understand that stolen packages can be frustrating. In the event of a stolen package, we will work with our customers on a case-by-case basis to find a fair resolution.

✍️ Signature Confirmation: Although not required, we highly recommend that customers opt for signature confirmation at checkout for added security. This ensures your package is handed directly to you, reducing the risk of theft or misdelivery.
