A living record of pepper history.
The Kingtalii Pepper Archive exists to preserve more than pepper names and heat levels. We document the stories behind the plants—where varieties came from, who bred or preserved them, how their genetics developed, and how growers carried them forward.
Pepper history is not always complete. Records disappear, stories conflict, genetics change and new evidence continues to surface. That is why the Archive is a living document: a record designed to grow, be corrected and become more accurate over time.
We bring together historical records, credible published sources, breeder accounts, grower knowledge and firsthand observations. When something is uncertain, we say so. When better evidence becomes available, we update the record.
Grow it. Study it. Document it. Preserve it.
THE ARCHIVE STANDARD
History deserves receipts.
Every Archive story is built around evidence. Breeder statements, historical records, documented testing and reliable published sources are separated from community reports, estimates and unresolved claims. When the story is uncertain, the Archive says so.

Know something we should add—or correct?
The Kingtalii Pepper Archive is a living record. Growers, breeders, seed keepers and people who were there can help make each story stronger. If you have a correction, firsthand history, original documentation, or photographs that belong in the record, send them for review.
See a date, breeder detail, lineage claim or historical point that needs another look? Tell us what should be corrected and, when possible, include the source.
Share firsthand grower or breeder knowledge, early seed sources, dates, selections, phenotype history or context that may be missing from the current record.
Contribute plant, pod, early-generation or historical images you own or have permission to share. Accepted contributions can be credited to you.
Community input is reviewed before it becomes part of the Archive. Claims may be labeled Verified, Breeder-Reported, Grower-Reported, Commonly Reported or Unresolved. A submission gives us evidence to investigate—it does not automatically become historical fact.
Please include the pepper name, what you know, how you know it, any dates or sources you have, and whether submitted photos are your own. By submitting a photo, you confirm you own it or have permission to share it for Archive review.
